I was wondering if anyone on here has purchased full corner gaurds or rock sliders and mounted them on a fiberglass body. I am curious on how the fiberglass held up or if they did anything special to mount them to the body. I have a cj8 with a fiberglass tub and would like to purchase some protection for it.

A buddy of mine did it to his CJ7. He put some custom rocker guards on and tied them onto the body mounts and a few small bolts through the sides to keep them tight. So far so good.

My buddies are angled and go under about 6" and then tabbed longer to the body mounts. Yes he did put smaller plates on the inside to give extra support to the areas he bolted to the body.

Pretty good question. I woudl say you may want to tie some support to the cage and\or frame. How is teh cage supported right now? If only mounted to trhe body I would say that would be the first thing I would looik into and tie into the frame, or you will roll and crack (body, and possibly your body as well).

Regardless.....F'glass or sheemetal you'd want backing plates to distribute any load.
