I noticed a crack on the frame of my 642-1 over the weekend. I am sure Smith will warranty it, but the gun has some sentimental value. Part of me thinks I should just keep it as rememberance and not use it. It was my brother's and when he passed away it became mine. It is the most carried gun I own.

Write them a letter. See if you can get it fixed AND get the broken piece(s) back.
