I got an EMOD that I need to pin to satisfy our AWB regs. My question isn't necessarily where or how to do it, but more so in what manner in reguards to permanent? I know some "Permanently" pinned stocks come from the factory with just the latch nut torqued down, others have roll pins through drilled and installed. Others still have roll pins installed with epoxy over them and again some even are only drilled halfway through and pinned.

Anybody have any insight on this other then I need to move to another state (which I know) Ideally Id like to just through drill it and insert a rollpin then just cover it up with the cheek weld covers.

Just a question.

Does the stock have to be pinned in the fully expanded position?

or can you choose which position to pin it in?

I can choose to pin it in any length I want provided the barrel is over 16" and the overall length is over 32 (fully collapsed) or something really close to that. The EMOD is a long stock anyways which you may already know. I plan on pinning it in the 2nd maybe 3rd position.

I just want to know what the consensus of "permanently pinned" is? Nothing is really permanent as any roll pin can be taken out, epoxy can be drilled out, etc etc. If I remember seeing correctly bushmaster pinned stocks just come with the nut torqued down. Some guys were saying you can't "Through drill" it because it can be punched out. Id rather just through drill it with 1 or 2 roll pins and call it a day.

I drilled and roll pinned. Pins were slightly short, fill in the holes with a little 2-1 epoxy. Very hard to see

Why not just save some cash at the expense of being "tactical" with an A1 stock?
