My old neighbor just stopped by and said he came upon some parts he was scrapping, they include:

1) Frame from 70's or older CJ (non boxed) (No Body)
2) This has a closed knuckle front axle and an offset 44 rear
3) 5 chrome rims and 31" tires
4) 3 speed tranny with a twin stick transfer case with the rear output offset to the passenger side, transfer case serial # is J176575

The only thing of interest to me is the transfer case and wheels. My question is, this is a Dana 20 transfer case correct? I didn't realize they had an offset on them back then!!!

Dana 18, front axle could be a 25 or 27, rear could be a 44 or 41, look for a lemon shaped cover, that's a 41, if it's a 44, look for flanged shafts, most likely they will be two piece. Sounds like Willy's flatfender or Early CJ-5 to me, don't scrap it, old stuff is cool.

Agreed this has to be a Dana 18 if the output is not centered
