Which should I use, the 12 circut universal or the 12 circut scout/bronco/land cruiser. There is about $100 difference in the two. Any help would be much appreciated!

I sold my 64 project, but I bought some wire and pulled a fuse box from a geo metro in a Jyard. That was my plan anyhow.

You have headlights, tail lights/brake/reverse, ignition, turn indicators, and... I think that's it.

Spend the 25 bucks and at least see if it works before you spend the big bucks on the Painless kit.

Are you going to the clean up?

IF you do go with a kit, check out centech instead of painless, cheaper and better support.

Oh, and I'm not sure, but the answere your question... or not...

I think the Scout kit accommodates the wiring to the GM column. Which I don't think you have in an 800.

There is no way the current wiring could be fixed, small animals used it as a snack when it was in a field for about 5 years. Not going to the clean up unless I catch a ride with Rockhog or my brother. I think I'm going to look into the Centech harness before I make a decision.

I used the 18-curcuit generic kit for LIl Mule. the only problem I had was the steering column, but a 1/2 hour and a volt meter got that all hooked up. My problem was I accidently hooked the blinker to the horn...Oops. Other than that the kit was AWESOME

Check out http://www.ezwiring.com for an inexpensive solution. I used a Painless 18 circuit in my Scout and so far have been happy with how it is all coming together. Test day will come soon but I will be prepared with the key in my right hand and fire extinguisher in the left.

Hmm, I'm not so sure thats such a gread deal.

12 circuit panel -- $185
Dimmer switch $6
headlight switch $25
Ignition $18
wiper $18

total $252

vs.

Wire works bare bones $325
ignition switch $25
dimmer switch $10
wiper switch. $22

total $382

at first glance the ez wiring kit seems better, but does it have the quality of the wire-works kit? as easy to install? what about customer service?

I think the extra $$ is worth the Wire Works kit
