: question for those running rockwells
onetonwillysands10 09-26-2002, 10:06 PM does anyone running rockwells have a problem with the end of the bearing hub sticking out past the edge of the rim..Yea I know it will get bashed..,but I am just curious if anyones set-up sticks out and if they have had problems.I am not liking the idea of running the hubs flipped out wide at the moment...Thanx.
elf_cruiser 09-26-2002, 10:42 PM Sure, they stick out, but who cares?? If you don't care too much about width, you can run a 12" wheel with 4" BS - hubs in - that should cover it pretty well. A 10" with 4" BS leaves a little exposed.
jeeper111 09-26-2002, 11:48 PM run them out. In is gay unless you are thinking of comp. There is no reason not to run them out if you aren't.
elf_cruiser 09-26-2002, 11:52 PM Lee you got your discs on yet?
No, he's been too busy trying to see just how far he can get his head up his ass!
No time to build the Heep...
onetonwillysands10 09-27-2002, 05:48 AM thanx for the info guys.. if I go wide not sure if it will exit the garage..I am looking at flipped in with 3 to 3.5 inches of bs or flipped wide with about 8 inches..gonna go check it out right now.thanx again.
CJ Lagos 09-27-2002, 06:06 AM With my 15x10's with 4" bs, a very small part of the driveflange sticks out past the beadlock ring, but not outside the tire. I've hit my driveflange on rocks with no problems.
My friend has 15x10's with 3.5" bs hubs flipped in and the driveflange is just behind his beadlock ring. Either way I don't see a problem. Seems like a really insignificant sacrafice compared to being too wide :P

RickyR 09-27-2002, 06:51 AM Daniel, I saw it in TN during the Memorial Day weekend trip, but it was on a trailer. That is probably one of the nicest jeeps I have ever seen.
It's real puuurty too.

jeepbeater 09-27-2002, 08:25 AM pics should be floating around. I'll see if I can find some.
jeeper111 09-27-2002, 08:32 PM Elf_loser is just too busy out there in AZ jacking off on all the trails and wishing he had a job so he could buy a real suspension and stop breaking his crappy 27 year old shit!!! HAHAHAHAHA:flipoff2:

OK, I'll not argue that point, BUT -
I bet you are wishing that you had your axles inserted into your carriers, and your outers attached to your axle housings, so MAYBE, just MAYBE your junk would even THINK about rolling down the road....
Ohhh wait, r u too busy with school to work on your rig?? puss...
FULLSIZE 09-28-2002, 03:18 AM you both sound 12 years old. play this game with pm's.........
Tommy 09-29-2002, 05:39 PM Was that your Jeep attempting to climb up the log pile at the Big Dog's staging area? If so, your all's reaction when we told you something broke was great...... Oh Shit.
Watching you guys on the qualifier run Sunday was interesting. I just don't see how you can paint them so nicely.
CJ Lagos 09-29-2002, 06:05 PM Hey Tommy,
Yeah that was my Jeep. I let my friend Steve get behind the wheel for 2 minutes and look what happens. I guess that is the way things go sometimes.
Oh well, I got it all fixed and ready to go again.
Skip likes to give everyone a hard time about the paint but that's ok...it's not like the Jeeps aren't used, they just look nice :P

elf_cruiser 09-29-2002, 06:17 PM What broke CJ??
CJ Lagos 09-29-2002, 06:20 PM The rear swaybar broke. I think it was a bad bar to start with, it really shouldn't have done what it did.
My other carnage was a bent lower rear control arm but that was from several attempts at a ledge where the rear of the Jeep was up in the air landing on that one arm. The heim shanks got totally bent up and the arm was tweaked...straightened that out. 1.75x3/8 wall does bend.

jeeper111 09-30-2002, 12:18 AM what kind of swaybar was it? Was it the currie anti rock or just a regular one?

He was running the currie anti-rock in the back nigah.
CJ Lagos 09-30-2002, 09:52 AM The swaybar was a torsion bar form a local stock car place I get things from. I think it was just a bad bar and bad luck.
