I hvae 72 Jimmy that I eventually gonna put some king shocks on the front end. Looking at the steering shaft it looks like it will be right in the way of the shock. I've seen the oru blazer and that setup is just a little too complicated for me. I was thinking about (re)moving the crossmember and installing a steering gear that mounts on the inside of the frame. Anyone have a idea of what donor vehical to look for? I wan to convert to a crossover steering system so finding something with the right pitman arm position would be super kewel :D

Yah, It's a little more complicated than that:

Looks like a 4x4 box moved to the indide on the passenger side of the frame. Lots of linkage twists and turns. Looks nice and I trust it works well but I think KISS :flipoff2:

One place to look for the gear is on 70-80's Chevy cars. Malibus, Camaros, Novas, Monte Carlos. They all mounted on the inside of the frame. Also 88 up chevy pickups did, too. You would still be able to use the crossover pitman arm.

I think you want a Jeep box. They mount to the inside of the frame, like the one you link to.

The one on the Blazer above is a 2 wheel box with the pitman arm on sideways. You can even see the splines in the picture. Not quite sure why he has that double crossover, looks more impressive though.
