I searched, but couldn't find any threads where specs for the cummins diesel 3.4 liter 6bt or 6at were mentioned. I am doing an engine conversion to the 6at and wanted the specs. I know that in general it is a good engine for this conversion, but I am considering the NV 3550 transmission and wanted to have spec sheets to compare before spending $$ on this transmission. Can anyone point me toward one? Searched the web and came up empty - though I am sure its out there someplace.

Yeah, I am a Newbie. But at least I searched before posting this dumbass request!

The Cummins found in Ram HD's is a variant of the 6bt Inline 6, 5.9 liter. You may be confusing it with the 4bt, a smaller 4 cylinder, 3.9 liter. It is commonly found in forklifts and various commercial applications.

..... and i wouldn't put a NV3550 behind any of them. not strong enough in my opinion ;)

The 6AT is a much smaller motor than the 6BT. I am putting one in a restored "66 Land Cruiser FJ45LV wagon. It only puts out 225 ft-lb even with the optional Bosch VE pump. But I'm still using a NV4500 even though the 3500 is rated for 300 ft-lb. One of my reasons is that the 4500 has PTO covers.
I wouldn't trust a 3500 for any B motor, even a 4BT; they can be easily upped to 400 ft-lb.
