: Where do you sleep when hunting?

Since my hunting camp is two hours away I had to find a place to sleep. The clubhouse was one option but since most of the members smoke, and the coal stove isn't exactly up to code and we would need to keep the door open I was torn between a decent tent, and a camper. My sister-in-law and her husband had a 2002 31ft Mallard travel trailer in storage that has been sitting since '04. It now resides in my driveway in exchange for unlimited usage, begining with this year's PA bear and deer season.

This, pretty much. :smokin:

We've got about 260 acres that I've spent the last few years cleaning up, put in some 3-4 acre food plots with easily huntable access.

Soon as late spring or summer rolls around, going to start putting in some 4x8' box blinds on each of the plots, might just sleep in there. :homer:

if anyone in TX/OK needs a cheap travel trailer to park at a hunting camp...LMK...$500 and pull it away...nice tires, no leaks, water system needs repair, but would make a good place to sleep.

LOL, we can trade for the nastiest camper in the world, label it a hunting camp special and it will be gone in 2 days tops!

It depends. I usually try to grab a tag for my unit here (391). In that case, I walk across the driveway and hunt the neighbor's land.

I also try to make a hunting trip to another unit and in that case, I'm tenting it. I really need to pick up a small 4 season tent. I currently just use my REI Half Dome 2, but it's a 3 season tent. It's fairly warm for a 3 season, but if it's supposed to be really cold, I'll bring a liner for my sleeping bag and a lightweight fleece blanket that I drape over the tent underneath the rain fly. Works pretty well, but having to pack that extra stuff sucks.

We stay in a tent, 2 days of off roading to get to our camp. Then we spend 3 weeks hunting.

Deer hunting, in my bed.

Elk Hunting, we put two surplus army tents together, then stay there for almost 2 weeks(12 days this year)

I used to sleep in my bed at home and drive to wherever I hunt but this year I've got a lease about 1.5 hour away so we're taking my buddies camper.

If hunting within an hour of the house I stay here, within an hour of my parent's house I sleep there, anywhere else I usually sleep in the truck since I'm either parking by a locked fs gate or at a trailhead.

At home, as our farm land is 25 miles away.

When I lived further away, I used to stay at the farm house and walk out the door to hunt. :smokin:
