ever have a goofy idea for a trail rig that just goes rampid? mine lately is a crew cab 70s cab, tube fenders that tie into the grill/radiator support, flatbed, 12 valve cummins, dually width 60s or rockwells, long control arm/coil suspension that pushes the tire diameter past the front of the frame(better than 90deg. approach/departure angle), doubler, and 44" boggers. you can substitute the cummins for a 575hp/500" crate motor if you like and i wouldn't mind. anyone else smoke crack like me?

I have a pair of rockwell rears, toploaders, just laying around, but I'd have to make an articulated frame as they are both rear units, could even run skinny 60" tractor tires on them. Heh, I'm just as demented as you!

hehehe! hinge that baby, lets see some silly sh#t on the trail. maybe you could power it with a mpi 360 with a kenne bell supercharger! 512 ftlb at 2400rpm, yeh that would turn those 60" tires.

I have thought about stuff like that before too.. though, I would LOVE a daily driver 81-84 W-300 crew cab flat bed with a 12V twin turbo cummings, NV5600, and a 230/205 doubler, with a 4-5" lift and 37x12.5x16" ssr's on Mickey thompsons. Be a really cool Daily driver.... Oh, and runel bumpers front and rear, with front and rear 15k warn winches... only if I had money....

oh ya, thats what i mean. the weird stuff. i'm seriously debating parting out the cj to swap the 360/435/203 into that m-37. the guy im buying it from only wants $2000 for it. everything works and it runs good. i think with a doubler, some lockers and some tires for those 16" military wheels......

That dakota idea maycome true after I totally demolish my power wagon. But then I also have wanted a W-300 Power wagon (1941-1971, military-civvy style- yaa know) with the orignal frame, newer custom national springs, a cummings 6, 6 speed manual, and a 205, with a dana 60 front, dana 70 rear, both modern with open knuckles front, 4.88 gears, custom 6 lug bolt pattern(orignal) and some 36" mitchlen tires.. oh that would be FUN!!

I also want a 440 powered scout II, with a hood that hopens the right way, and straight up, with full width 1 ton axles, and a 440... oh, and on 40's.. oh to dream

ScoutII

Well I've got the ScoutII with a IH 392
and wheel it all the time. But...like
PW ...I've managed to acquire 4 440 engines
some from trucks, some from motorhomes,
one still in a 68 newport with the good 906 heads. I've got the 727bb,203 and a 205, boyces chev d60/14ff/4.56/detroits and 16.5x14 weld forged/44 boggers. Now all I have to do is figure out how I want to build
this ScoutII. I was thinking using the already boxed frame and then tubing the rest and then dzues fastining fiberglass fenders/quarterpanels,hand formed aluminum hood, etc. 500hp/550tq 513 mountain motor,
727 with 2.77 low first gear etc. Any suggestions on the Nascar type frame/body.
I want this to be a real sleeper...lol to take on the Good Ole Boys and their large
Chebbie rigs. Oh....I also acquired an 83
crewcab ex Cal trans vehicle missing only
the engine. I was thinking of shortening
the frame to a regular wheelbase and putting
a 3 foot bed behind whats left of the frame.
I would put the rear axle just behind the
rear doors. Orrr...should I leave it stock
with a big block and used it as a tow vehicle. Oh and I acquired a 91 Dodge 4x4/
d60/d70/turbo 12v cummings/727/np205. Maybe
I could mix and match? But first I want
suggestions on the killer ScoutII...lol.
If you venture near Hollister HIlls you may see ScoutII #1. White/4" skyjackers/2"body/
392ci/stans headers/727 with 2.77 first/d300/d44's f&r/warn front axles/34gal tank..tons of oil/trans/ps coolers/loadstar radiator/35bfgmuds/rolled many times down five fingers/ripped out suspension in tank trap (but still made it), all the time driving it back to San Jose.
Oh...oh..oh...and also acquired 2.5 ton rockwells front/rear/with five rims and tires/misc yokes...come on' guys help me
use this stuff for the new and improved
ScoutII Killer Bee!!!

Amen

Denny
many engine fires...heh..heh...

I saw this one last weekend. Not a trail truck, but it does pull pretty good. Mopar 600+ cu in B1 under the hood, Rockwell axles, and Pro Fab TC.
