What I didn't get pics of; the hydro-locked motor and swamped interior.
88mitsu 11-22-2009, 07:53 PM Good one!:flipoff2:
sneakyninja 11-22-2009, 08:58 PM One thing i learned is that is mitsu engines can take on a lot of water and bounce back. Get the water out and dry everything up, Hit the trail again next weekend to test out the new U-joints
sneakyninja 11-22-2009, 09:00 PM What happened by the way?
Kuranosuke 11-22-2009, 09:13 PM Yeah, need more details, bro! Drain it, start it, and let us know how it runs...

GreatWhiteShark 11-23-2009, 09:00 AM look at the u-joint...
i see now.
i at first thought that was a front end suspension part:eek:
Raole Duke 11-23-2009, 10:57 AM The cap came of the u-joint first, just came off and locked the right front wheel in the middle of a flat trail. I backed up a little and it fell out, had little cracks all around it. No big deal, just unlocked that hub and continued. Then got stuck in a deep part of a creek and dug myself in a little too deep. While hooking the strap, the motor started chugging and blowing white smoke, so I shut it off. That was wierd because the exhaust and intake were well above the water level. I guess while I was spinning the wheels trying to get unstuck I must've thrown water into the wheel well exhaust exit, the only thing I can think of. My buddy pulled me backwards out and into a big low-hanging branch, breaking the rear window and denting the roof all the way to the windshield. When I got to a flat spot I tried to start it back up, and it wouldn't turn. Got pulled to the parking lot and turned the motor with a ratchet, stuck. Turned it backwards and it moved(not easily), got a full revolution and then went back the right way, got a full revolution, tried the key and it started. It ran like shit and blew white smoke for 10 minutes then was fine so I drove it an hour and a half home, no probs. The oil looks good, not milky, but I'll change it anyway. Pulled the seats and carpet out and blew out all the electric connectors. So I think it'll be ok:smokin:
Raole Duke 11-23-2009, 04:14 PM I'm thinking the c-clip broke then the cap worked it's way out. :nuke:

Wojin 11-30-2009, 07:55 PM "we" meens i have absolutly no welding or fab skills hahahaha i dont think im gonna mod this thing anyway, maybe doublers a locker, and 33s thats it. i am an aircraft mechanic, i can remove and replace and troubleshoot, fabbing is not my thing. i think i may jst do those little mods, and a little protection and wheel it till it dies
Wojin 11-30-2009, 08:33 PM but any chance you would be intrested in doing bumpers and sliders? i will pay

Spicoli_D50 12-05-2009, 08:55 PM So do you have any clue as to why your breaking shafts like crazy?? I'm assuming your using a D44, and guessing some 35s, that shouldnt be very hard on a D44 much less one with chrome molys.
Wojin 12-05-2009, 10:24 PM 35s last i saw him...and a heavy foot
Raole Duke 12-06-2009, 08:19 AM He finally bucked up and ordered the RCV "unbreakable" shafts.:smokin:

Well i think alot has to do with the fact that i dont like to give in. if its not happening slow and steady,:stirthepot: the right foot goes down hard like race ready. standing the truck straight up with the hope of making it over seldomly works out:eek::shaking:. GO BIG OR GO HOME!! GOING BIG USUALLY SENDS ME HOME..
