Will a Toyota high pinion electric locking diff hold up under the rear of a samurai. I run the 1600 16v and 6.1 t-case and plan on going to Toyota axles. The high pinion would help my driveline angles, but I have heard you should not run these under the rear. Thanks for your info.

I'm pretty sure OILBURNER on this board has had one in the rear of his rig for a while.

I'd say yep, it'll hold up most likely. I ran one in both front and rear Toyota axles underneath a CJ2A for several years, and never broke it. (for reference, I was running the stock 4.10's)

I've seen that setup on some pretty thrasher Toy pickups and they seem to have held up fine.

That's the FJ80 stuff? I'm pretty sure a couple of UROC guys are running them.

Yeah, that's the FJ-80 front third member. They do hold up really well, but a high pinion diff is weaker when run in a rear axle.

My hi-diff in the rear hasn't given me any problems.
If you play in the mud/water, I dunno if I would opt for the elect. locker - go spool instead.
