: Steering Adjustments

I recently bought a 99 XJ with a 3.5" long arm. I had to replace a few things and get some issues taken care of. For some reason I could turn left with no problems, but I only had one complete turn of the wheel to the right. I ajusted the sleeve on the drag link to lengthen it and it now has a good turning radius left and right. The only problem is that it is adjusted pretty far out now and I hope its not too far to be unsafe. The threads on both sides are still to the inside of the clamps but is that enough? If not what else could be wrong? Maybe the steering shaft is off 180 degrees where it attaches to the box?

I didn't mess with the pitman arm but the previous owner did swap out the steer box. Isn't the pitman arm keyed though?

most pitman arms are keyed but it takes about 10 min to file that out then you can put it any where you want.

id pull the pitman arm off and check it. i know on some you file out the key on the pitman arm if it came off a different vehicle. it would be worth the 30 sec it takes to pull the pitman arm off and check.
