: 5.0L flywheel question

I scored a Lincoln Mark VII whole car with a 5.0 for real cheap and am dropping it into my CJ7 w/an NP435. I know I need the truck flywheel, bellhousing, clutch, press plate, pilot bushing and starter. I already have the b/h, and clutch stuff.

Now, I picked up a SUPPOSEDLY 89 F-150 302 flywheel today from the junk yard, but the guy was only 99% sure. It has Ford casted on the back and I called Ford and had all the casting numbers checked and cross referenced, but no matchs. I asked for the 81-87 part numbers and then teh 88-95 part numbers because they are different listings, well the guy agreed they were different listing, but had the same part number. He still couldn't determine if it was the right one.

How do I tell if it is a 302 truck flywheel? Should I go to the parts store and ask for a ring gear to maybe check diameter and teeth of the starter? Is the truck flywheel a different diameter than other 302 flywheels? How do I check to even see if it is a 302 flywheel?

I don't feel like getting it all together and then having it shake apart on me because it is wrong.

Thanks
Jason

I posted this in the Ford forum first, but in case some of the Ford gurus don't look there I put it here too. So, I don't want to hear about double posting because I know everybody doesn't check every board.
