With an atlas II or stak t-case passenger side front output how well does the yoke clear the side of the trans/oilpan on a 4l80E?

A friend has a jeep with a 5.7 4l60e and a dana 300 t-case. The front output is so close to the side of the trans that a 1350 or CV absolutely will not fit. Its got a Tom Woods custom 1310 and the drive line rubs the side of the trans case/oil pan with a chevy 60 in front.

My question is: Will this be the same or worse with a 4l80e and aftermarket t-case on the pass side? I realize this is why every auto maker went driver drop but trying to put a 6.0 4l80E in a rig with a pass side front axle.

I searched but didnt end finding any pass side drive cases behind the newer trans. Thanks for any input or flamage.

I am thinking of doing this swap in my 78 chevy. It has a 465 w/ an Atlas 4 speed in it right now. The reduction box on the front of the TC may give me enough room to clear the big CV I have up there though.

No one in the chevy forum put a pass side t-case behind a 4l80E that wants to talk about it?

not a 4l80e... a th400 isnt far off, just doesnt have overdrive... a 205 will work, so will a 208, 203, 241c

bolt patterns still the same.... whats the question?

My dads YJ has 700R4 with 300 behind and 1310 yoke barely clears. Ended up going with an Atlas 4 speed for the gearing and ability to run a bigger driveshaft. The Atlas will get the front output over an additional 5/8" from the center of the input when compared to the 300, so you can squeeze in a shaft with 1-1/4" bigger OD. A stak monster box will get you over even more than the atlas, a mini box wont. I have no idea about the 4l80E but I think you would be fine with the monster box, it is a big case. Id give the guys at stak all, they were pretty helpful once I got ahold of them.

I ordered a Stak monster box for my wifes rig for just this reason.
