I'm having a brain fart. I want to make my tranny fan run in both dir. for in the winter I can reverse the air flow back into the cab. What is the best way to wire it and safest. I'm thinking a switched ground. I am ordering a new panel from the 12volt guy and want to have all my wiring figured out before I order. I'm good with electrical stuff just can't seem to think straight on this one. If any one could help let me know. The 12volt guy is 10 weeks out so I got to get on it soon. I hope all this lead time means our industry is doing well. My ballistic hybrids are 8 weeks out, well 6 now. I bought my stak used to save time so I can get drive shafts ordered.

You can use a double-pole, double-throw center-off switch to provide forward, off, and reverse.

Here's a description, if the description doesn't work I can make a drawing for you... imagine a domino with six dots, these are the connection lugs on the bottom of the switch. The domino is sitting vertically - two dots over two dots over two dots.

Connect the fan to the center two lugs.

Put a short wire from the bottom left lug to the top right lug. Put a short wire from the top left lug to the bottom right lug. Like an "x".

Wire 12V to the bottom left lug. Wire the bottom right lug to ground.

------

With the switch in the center position, the fan is off.

With the fan in the up position, the fan runs one way. With the fan in the down position, because of the "x" you made with the short wires, the fan runs the other way.

Did I explain it well enough?

Jeff

Same concept as a window switch?

I can find the shorts in my switches and why its not getting power.

I saw this and said to myself, "Self. I hope someone has already made the 3way comments"

Nice work boys!!

The good thing about multiple personalities is you can have a 3way anytime you want.
