Looking around for an upper group for an AR build. I was just going to build a simple 16" carbine for my first AR, but I ran across all the info on 16" mid length uppers and gas systems, specifically looking at BCM 16" middy with a 1/7 twist, chrome bore/chamber, etc.
Is this going to be leaps and bounds better than a basic 16" carbine 1/9 twist upper from RRA or Del ton? Rifle is going to be a SHTF, plinking, general entry into AR building for me but the ability to handle more loads, be more accurate if I want to start shooting longer distance, and the assumed better quality of the BCM has me interested.
