Does the Chev. D60 caliper bracket go straight up from mounting surface -> caliper mount?? Or does it reccess back towards the knuckle (similar to D44)??

Looking at the passenger side from the curb mine is about in the 9 o'clock position.

I'm wondering if the caliper bracket is kinda reccessed over the splindle.
On a Ford set-up the bracket is mounted between the knuckle and the spindle, and the caliper bracket is fairly flat.
Since the caliper is mounted on top of the caliper on a Chev, I'm wondering if the bracket is reccessed to compensate for the further stick-out, or if the bracket is fairly flat as well??

The Chevy (and Dodge) bracket has a pretty heavy offset, probably between 1" and 1 1/2". Installed, the offset is toward the leaf spring because the rotor/hub assy actually overhangs the knuckle mounting surface.

To see a pic of the bracket go to my web site (see sig below) and look at the "New Projects" page. I am using these brackets to make a rear disc set up on my D70HD, one of the pics is of the caliper bracket installed on the housing - not a great pic but you can see the bracket you're talking about.
