: First buck, the second deer with daughter.

Took a doe on the last day of season with my daughter, as she voiced she wanted me to shoot it. Today, we hunted deer together for the first time this season, and a 3 bucks we had seen last year, when "just watching deer", showed up again in the same stand. A small 8pt, a large 6pt, and a large 7pt. I have game pictures of the 6 and 7 for two years. Neither has progressed much. I figure the 6, which is the dominate of the group is a 4 year old, and the 7, a 3/12 year old. Really liked the 7, and took him while my daughter was with me today. I have to admit, I was more excited in shooting this deer than I have been for a long time, even hunting with the longbow..

Also had a good friend and his daughter who is a capable shooter, hunting. Had told him, and shown him the pictures of both the 6pt and 7 pt, and told him it was ok for her to shoot either.

I shot the 7pt at 4:01 and the 8pt and 6 pt ran toward the field my friend and his daughter were hunting. I heard them shoot about 50 minutes later. :)

Both my friend and I decided to get the deer mounted, particularly to preserve the memory. Boy, I'm still on a high from today, especially with my daughter being there with me and enjoying the time together. Sometimes, things just fall into place.

 That's what I thought. When my daughter is a few years older, I can see her out with painted fingernails as well.

Cool pics. :smokin:

:D

awesome.

Showed the pics and quotes to my daughter and she voiced to Mo's writing:

"HEY!!!! Why do I need to get new boots?"

Had to inform her Mo was a grumpy old man,.........er, I mean just joking and poking fun with us in his excitement for our success. :D

I wasn't awake enough to explain satire and a good dry witty humor!!

Thanks everyone, still grinning from ear to ear!!

Custom :D

Not really. :emb: It's a Richards Microfit stock, in exhibition grade. Stumbled across it, as it was on clearance. I've been very pleased with it.

Nice wood, and I mean that in a totally hetero way

No, really, it's a very nice stock. The width of the forearm caught my eye in the first pics.

That's awesome. I took my 11yo on her first hunt and she got a 3pt. The memories and time we had far exceeds the size of the antlers.

Congrats!!!!

I agree completely. I'm just so pleased she chooses to go out with her daddy, and wants to be a part of the outdoors. Hopefully, when she grows, it will still be something she wants to do.

I was standing beside my daughter when she pulled the trigger on her first animal this year, she took a nice moose. Even though she is 28 it was still a great feeling, good job getting the daughters into hunting.

Great job!

Those are two good bucks. Poor genetics. You did your local herd a service removing them.

Cute boots:laughing:
