Can you use a np435 with a dana 21 ( full size pickup with no low range ) adapter to swap a bronco Dana 20 and 435 into an early bronco?

No. You need to get a 435 to Dana 20 adapter. I got a 435 mated to a 21 and tried all ways but it would'nt fit. You need to take a 3 speed adapter and build one or spend the $300 the houses want for them.

the hard part of building the adapter is mating the dissimilar metals. my weld broke and i had it brazed(sp?). seems to hold fine. just a pice of 3/4" plate with a hole in the middle and recesses for the bearing. as fear me said they will not bolt up no matter how hard ya try without the adapter. and have the adapter built longer than mine and you won't have to cut the output!
