The coupling in my 249 is gone and toasted so I'm swapping it out with a 242. I have a 242WJ out of a '99 GC sitting in my garage that I would love to hook up, but it appears to be a different beast. I've found 249 -> 242/231 swaps for ZJ's, but none that came from a WJ. Also found WJ - WJ swaps, but no ZJ info. The input shaft is shorter, but I still have the 249 and can swap out, I believe. I'm wondering about the output shaft to the rear diff.; can this be swapped from the 249 as well? The bolt pattern is the same but the 242 is longer and used a shorter drive shaft (I also have the drive shaft).

I don't need a straight bolt on if I can scrounge the parts from both to make it work. The TC and DS were practically free. If I can get it to work, that'd be a hell of a deal.
