Did you see this on Snipershide and decide to post it here? :D

I'm guessing the FBI wants to knock down some aircraft or immediately immobilize a semi-tractor.

I don't think you're going to find many people who can make a shot much over 2 miles. I wouldn't know but I would hazard the number at less than 5.

True.

Which means a 1-1.5 mile shot would be a piece of cake.

When I think of 20mm rounds I think of the calibers the Germans and Japs used in their planes against us in WWII.

Sadly, here in Cali, we could only get those with 10 round mags!

Since that would be a DD and has a suppressor- are two NFA forms required for it? Or is it one item per their form?

It is a DD.

And there's one stamp for the rifle, one for the can. Of course our wise, ethical, and wonderful FBI doesn't need to pay the tax on them.

I wonder if old Lon is going to name these in honor of Vicki Weaver.

At Ruby Ridge, they had to wait for Randy Weaver's wife to open the door before they could shoot her in the head while she was holding her baby. Now they could blow through any part of the house, and do it from the next county. But it is a pretty cool piece.

It looks like ones wallet is the only limitation as far as what they would build.

BTW; What would be the cons of having one made of titanium if cost wasn't an issue?

Also; I hate these kinds of threads/posts because when a company like Anzio states "You think it up – We’ll build it" on their website, I would be the type to take them up on their offer and build a can plinker like the 20mm!

Gale McMillan said he made a Ti barrel chambered in .308 and the 1st eight inches of rifle bore past the throat disappeared due to "gaulding."

Interesting.. It has to suck spending that much time building a Ti barrel only to have it destroyed within 20 rounds.

Galling ;)

Galling is cold welding of metals from excess friction. Gaulding refers to chaffing of the skin. While both kinda work, IMO galling is "more correct". Stainless steel has a problem with galling in fastener applications.
