Here is my 1976 Crewcab. 42s and 48s. In the 3rd picture there was a $100 bounty on a mudhole. I did it in 4wd, 2wd, front wheel drive and then twisted the front driveline. The property owner was pissed when I showed up.

The Screwball:
4" BDS lift coils & sawzall action in the front
Skyy Manufacturing shackle flips in the back
38.5x15x15 Boggers
Aussie Locked D44 front & mini-spooled 9", built to run on 33's, and then the 38's just magically showed up on it one night while I was sleeping  I KNOW, I KNOW it needs 60's front & rear, but the funds aren't there for the build right now :(

Lost all of the wheeling pics I think when the computer crashed but here are some poser shots before i sold it. this picture is on 39.5" tsl's. It had 6 inch leaf springs with a shackle flip in the rear and a drop hanger in the front for about 10" of lift all together. set up worked well but was a little to big for my taste in the end. Should have stuck with a 6 inch and cut some fender.

Greenbomb,

Thanks! As sad as it is, that is actually the 1st picture I have ever posted of my Bronco on a website.

I will try to post up more pics later.

If you want to see more pics of it and others, go to www.earthresin4x4.com. My buddy puts on non-competitive mud bogs in Manito, IL, and there are 4 different photobucket pages that have my truck on there.

I ran my d44 for a winter with 42's and never had any issues, except wheel bearings. Though, it does suck going on trips expecting to have to change something out on a trail. I was just lucky enough to not have to. I also had a mildly built 390. :homer:

When I'm mud wheeling, I can bash on the Screwball as hard as I want. The 400 is warmed up a little bit, but nothing too wild.

Trail riding SUCKS balls. I haven't taken the Screwball anywhere that she gets twisted without snapping a shaft. Last crawling trip exploded a hub, the U joint & all 4 ears on that axle/stub shaft, and sheared both axle shafts off at the carrier.

I'll mud bog the fuck out of her, but no more trail rides in that big pig unless I slap the 60 under her :barf:

The rear its got a super lift add a leaf, removed one leaf, removed the over load springs.

The front is pro comp 4" super duty lift springs and shackles that are an inch longer than stock.

The springs haven't broken in yet so I think it will sit down some in the front.

Looks like a 600 holley and later smog heads. You can see the frost plug in the egr port on the end of the head. Not sayin it's not 600 hp, but it has a lot of stock appearing parts that would make it hard to get 600 hp out of it.
This is my motor and it's pushin around 600 hp according to a desktop dyno so it's probly close.

How much lift on that?

I have a 78/79 F150/F250 shortbed project I want to start on after the holidays. Has a 3" BL, I was going to bring it down and do lift springs but I don't know what I'm doing yet.

Be a light/medium muddrer, maybe more when I can source a 60 for the front, maybe a 14b or 70 for the rear.

These are 2 different trucks. Both have a 12" lift, D60 front with power-locks, 14bolt rear with detroit lockers on 42's. The black one has 400M with a NP435 trans and the primered truck my brother recently bought this year came with a 460 and C6 trans.

Badass, love it. What's done to the axles?

at the time, just stock 44 and 60. I later swapped in a 60 front w/ 5.38 gears and a lockright locker, and another 60 rear w/ 5.38's, a yukon full spool, and disc brakes. Then I cut it down to a short bed and put a bobbed flatbed on it. Which turned it into this.

First of all I love your ride. With that said I would super appreciate it if you would post some more pics of the flatbed. Did you bob the back of your frame or actually shorten your wheelbase? I am going to rebuild my 70 f250 and am thinking of flatbedding it. Thanks alot.

Upgrade any shafts in the front or rear? Looking to run in the 38" range or so, 60 fronts might as well be made of gold it seems.

Shame the 44 isn't worth anything, last owner of my F250 went through both axles with seals, bearings, etc.

I cut 10" out of the frame right behind the cab, then cut 6" off the back, right to the rear hangers. Its shorter than a short bed but has a longer wheelbase.

I just run stock shafts front and rear, I broke 4 Dana 60 stub shafts in 2 years of running the truck with the Boggers, I never broke any rear shafts, but busted a ring and pinion. I just sold the 60's out of this truck about a month ago. Parting the whole truck out and building a Ranger. Build thread - http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=839813

I got the Cowl through Harwood (thats HARWOOD, not hardwood you back alley clothes hanger abortion shouldabeens)....the hood is a factory steel unit with the center cut out for the scoop. Its not some 3m tape glue on non functioning cowl like you see on some greasy wop diegos beaner mobile. I waited a couple weeks and got this cowl scoop as a blem for half the price. Only damage was a corner of the mounting flange was broken. I went a little more liberal with the glass in the little area and its as good as new.

Here's my junk, 79 250 on 42s, no lift in the rear and drop hanger up front and trimmed fenders all around. Gonna throw some shackles on it when I get enough ambition

This is my 79 that I bought when I turned 16(37 now) the dates are not correct. The first pic is from 1989.Second pic is from around 1993 with 40's on it.I still have the truck the third pic is when I was moving it this year first time it has seen sun light in 10 years.I would like to redo it some day I got a 79 Dana 60 for the front but would like some rockwells.I built it as a cruiser back in the day but it would be a mud truck /mild wheeler if it comes out again.I have a 1970 Dove block 460 bored and stroked to 514 that would power it.

a guy i used to work with has a worn out stock 78 f250 4x4 stepside long bed. never seen one besides his(the longbed part) the shorty's look decent, but the long bed stepside was fawking dumb looking and dis-proportioned. buddy has a pretty sweet restored 78 stepside on 33's, but no pics.

Sweet ride, but you're supposed to use a cut piece of wood, not your tape measure, for a wheel chock. :flipoff2:

Well, since I don't know how to read a tape measure, why not use it as a wheel chock? :flipoff2:

Yeah, yeah, they're 37's, but no lift meant I coulda cleared 39's with a 4" or minor trimming.
