: Caliper bracket interchange?

Tried a bunch of different search combinations on here, google, D60 bible, etc. and can't find any information on this or a diagram showing both brake caliper brackets or part numbers for this. What I'm trying to do is piece together a front D60, to have a HP Ford center section, then running Chevy knuckles. So the problem is, I haven't had any success in finding out if there is a difference between the left and right caliper brackets for an 8-lug 1-ton stock GM application. Anybody know if there is a difference between the brackets? I'm buying the parts from various places and have a couple of people with just one bracket, but not sure if there is a difference between the application on each side of the axle. Anyone know for sure if there is a right and left application or is it universal?

Probably a dumb question, but just couldn't come up with an answer. :homer:

Found out they're side specific, if this is useless tech I'll delete it.

Chevy Dana 60 front caliper brackets are side specific, they have either a "L" (driver side)or "R" (passenger side) cast into them. The threaded hole goes on the bottom.

x2, while holding the bracket with the hole on the bottom the offset to hold the caliper is different, and chances are with the condition of most old D60's around you wont be able to see the L or R casting cause of rust.

what do you have now? blackbird brackets are a little spendy, but youll be able to run the 3/4ton calipers, and those are real inexpensive, as well as the 3/4ton rotors when compared to 1ton stuff. any other caliper bracket spaces the ujoint to far out in my opinion.
