am trading my 89 toy for a '90 ram cummins w/5spd 2x dually 350k mi.anyone know if they are any good? pros,cons specs on injection pump, trans, rearend,mpg & how long this particular year model usually last?? thanks!!!!!!

more of a question of how it was taken care of. I have seen them with over 750k miles on them, but well taken care of, I have also seen them die at 60k miles before (fluke cooling problem). also watch out if it has a getrag 5 speed. I know they arent bad, but when they break, they are hard to get parts for, and they are expensive as you can get at, so a nv4500 swap is better.

ditch the getrag, put in a southbend clutch setup and intercool it if its not already (its right on the line) once its intercooled, lightly BOMB it and it'll pull dependably for 600k or more. One word of warning GET A PYRO! This way you can moniter EGT's and tell if its happy or not, anything over 1100 is getting a bit PO'ed.
