Can I use Lee pistol dies in a 650?

Yes. They can be a little short which sometimes doesn't leave enough thread showing to put the lock nut on. Can be made to work by using the Dillon lock rings or by putting the lock nut on the underside rather than the top.

What he said.

I have all my lock rings on the bottom. I just though that was how it was with the Dillons :emb:

Nah, BE is just a cool guy who'll let you call and talk his ear off.

And Lee dies are fine. I like both Redding and Lee dies more than Dillons stuff.

Yeah. Lots of guys who ordered their press from him spent an hour on the phone. He usually talks guys OUT of some of the unneeded stuff in their shopping list.

I prefer Redding dies over all the others I have used (RCBS, Lee, Dillon, Lyman).

I use Redding dies for my precision stuff, but there's no need in my opinion to pay that for pistol plinking stuff.

I agree, except that i think the seating die (w micrometer) is worth it. Especially if you change OAL a lot like me.

I can see that. I change OAL a lot on my .223 and love that feature.

Yeah. Crank the knob out from 21 to 49, and my flat-nose Moly bullets are the same 1.125" OAL as my roynd nose FMJs, without stopping to break a nut loose and guess.

Sometimes I like to stop and break a nut loose, is that ok?

How hard is it to switch the powder measure each time? Is it worth it to buy the extra powder measure for each caliber conversion?

It'll save you about 10 minutes.

im trying to get a whole set for each caliber......

my 9 and 40 though use the same amount of powder, so it uses the same powder setup, just different heads.
