I'm planning on mounting some lights on the roof of my daily driver (Jeep Liberty) mainly for driving at night in the middle of nowhere, and getting to camping spots at night and setting up.
I'm planning on spending up to $200 on them and would like to go with 4, mainly for looks but will go with 2 if it will give me better performance.
Right now I am looking at the hella 500s, hella 2500 angel eye driving lights, or 2 of the hella rallye FF1000s or 3000s. Just looking for opinions or advice.
cheers.

I got two of these (http://www.sidebysidesports.com/kr4hidoflics.html) from Kragen Auto parts. They are HIDs and work pretty well for me. I only paid $95.00 a piece. I plan on buying a few more as money allows.
I'm sure some one else with more lighting experience then me will chip in soon.

are you looking for driving-type (pencil beam ) lights or flood lights.

I want them for driving in rual areas so I guess I want both. I want to be able to see a good distance down the road as well as whats off to the side in the ditches (lots of deer and moose).

Buy the ones billybadass recommended except in the 7' diameter. They cost about $10 more but they are bad ass. I have those on my dirt bikes:D

I like them and there seems to be a lot of good reviews on them. I was hoping to find whatever lights I get in Maine though to save on shipping and brokerage fee's. Are those lights pretty common at sidebyside shops? I'll have to call around after work.

Mount two "driving" beam lamps in center, fog or "flood" lamps on outer,
at a 45 degree angle. That should get the coverage you need.
check on local motor vehicle off-road, & aftermarket lamp requirements.
You may need covers for your lamps.

no covers required, just can't legally use them on roadways.

I keep forgetting that not everyone lives in the land of constant control,
you might consider putting one or more rear facing lamps for camp set-up.
( also helps tailgaters reconsider position. ) :flipoff2:

Well heres how it turned out, unfortunately driving back from getting the lights I tagged a deer head on at about 50mph. Went with the hella 500s and am really happy with them.

still waiting back for the quote but the grill, bumper cover, bumper, head light bucket, and fog light all need to be replaced and the driver side fender is tweaked. While I'm at it I'm getting the bumper with tow hook openings and adding front tow hooks.
