i just became the proud owner of this truck it needs the head put back on and i dont know anything about toyotas it has the i4 in it and i got all the parts the question i have is does anyone know what torque settings are and patterns and anything else i need to know i finally got the truck i wanted to do the trail rig out of so any advice and help would be nice

Assuming its a 22RE the Haynes manual says 58 ft lbs. be sure that the bolt threads are all clean, and if there is any resistance from putting the bolt in the hole, tap it out. the bolt size is 12 mm, pitch is 1.25.

Also, make sure that there is nothing in the bolt hole. the hole in the block has oil in it, the bolt can bottom out in that and give a false torque reading.

thanks i appreciate the sarcasm from you its not the first head job just first toyota i have owned im getting a manual i was kinda hoping for some advice or mistakes to avoid that you learned from experience but anyways thanks for the info do you guys recommend replacing the head bolts?

why not since you have it apart , ARP studs will be your best bet

i havent been able to find a set of studs for it i must be looking in the wrong places and how do you do the sas on these trucks

the best advice would be to clean all your threads...headbolts and block. Best way to beat a stripped out block. That's when stuff gets hairy.
