OK i want to set up my cj so i can use it as a stand for outdoor photography(nice semi-stable platform so i am not standing in a foot of mud or snow while tryng to set up a camera)
also i am feeling fawking lazy and want to just buy one
i see a bunch of premade roof racks some look good and some look like crap and i cant count on what wieght they say they are rated at.
anyone running a roof cargo rack that would handle 195lbs of me and 100lbs(max) of camera gear?
any input would help

The Kargo Master congo cage will hold you, but why do you need a roof rack?? You could probably use some tripod heads mounted to the factory "sport" cage or whatever...

Either way, I have the congo cage... it's the beefiest BOUGHT rack I've seen... rated for 500#. I've stood on it and hauled some pretty heavy stuff, too.

i would have went to JU if i wanted some yuppie hold my fawking snowboads to the mall crap !! :flipoff2:
i figured someone here has a "real" rack and actualy uses it
i use my cage (factory "sport" cage LMAO) and duct tape the typod legs to it but come winter that aint gonna happen
head mounts wont work i am using BIG cameras (4x5,8x10,11x14)
Any one else have a rack they use?

My 2cents is a Confer with a grate thrown down. This is what I have on my HT. BUT it doesn't see that much weight, maybe 250 max.
