Where did you get the shaft from??
twistedmetal 09-29-2002, 06:01 PM I found it in a corner of my favorite fab shop. He can't won't order any more for me, though. I need one more 6" chunk to finish the rear! I'm just going to get two baig ass bolts from a supply store and knock the heads off of them. Lo-tech tech.

mikrosilakhan 09-29-2002, 08:07 PM Awsome pics guys! Thanks rockrat i got them in the mail also. I should be able to pull it off now. I just hope to get it right the first time !!!
nuttzack 09-30-2002, 12:11 AM Dayum rockrat, youve been doin some searchin I see;)
I took those pics before I was finished, so let me add that I did brace all of the mounts, heavily, before it ever saw the trail. Also, one of the mounts for the lower arms on the outside of the frame failed on me. Not because the metal wasn't thick enough or wasn't welded right. THe one that failed was for the front lower control arm. It failed due to the fact that I din't cap the end of the mount. If it would have been been caped or boxed, it would have been fine. So, for those of you that plan to go the same route as I did, make sure that you cap the end of your mounts or be prepared to use that niftiy little comealong for a make shift contol arm:D :D :flipoff2: :emb4:
Rockrat 09-30-2002, 04:47 AM Hay zack what kinda M/C did you use for your Disk conversion, gotta parts list?????

open up your favorite circle track mag/catalog... look for weight jacker screws. Im running 1 1/8" NF but the regular size is 1" course (aka cheeper) You can get the screw in various lengths. and they have a 1/2" drive square "hole" so you can turn them...
plus you can get lots of pre made plates and crap...
afco has a lot try speedway or brehents (sp) etc...
here mine installed in the rear...

NOW if i had to do it again (and im sure i will at somepoint) I wouldn't bother with the adjustability.... ya it looks cool and it does work.... but....
I would just set it the way i wanted it and make it perminient... just my .02
Im thinking the front will be some coil overs or somthing and they have some adjustment built in....
