The Pair-O-Dice 4 wheelers will be conducting trail clean up and maintence on the 3rd weekend in October. We will be picking up trash and moving rocks and trees to block some bypasses. We will also be working at the dam at Saddle lake with the help of the USFS. We could use all the help that we can get. E-mail (gmcelroy@saber.net) me if you want more info, otherwise we will be going up at 8:30am on Saturday Morning from Chuck's Place at Skyway and Woodward in Magalia.

man...can you guys change the date to one week earlier or one later. that conflicts w/ the rubicon trail clean up 19-20 oct.

I'd love to go but I am already commited to that one as are many others who would otherwise love to go help.

Blucruz- What you guys doing to the dam over at Saddle? Sounds interesting...I think that I am planning on going up that weekend, so I should see you there. We will be camped at the south end of Long lake if we go...We will go if the weather holds.

It sounded to me like the one side is somewhat washed out. I guess they(USFS) want to lay some plastic down and then lay rock over the plastic to help it get through the winter and then do a real fix next spring/summer. The weather should hold but it'll be cold as hell at night. Campfires are still allowed up there so I'll be alright as long as it dosen't rain
Sorry Sillyneck-can't change the weekend. We discussed this last month and it only is just coincidencethat it's the same weekend as the rubicon cleanup and the majority of us(in the club) could only do it the 3rd weekend of Oct.

Blucruz- How is the USFS getting down into saddle? I know that there used to be a decent trail a while back, but it has been intentionally closed with fallen trees and the like. I know that my '43 could get there, but getting back up would cost some axle shafts....That trail is nasty!

Hey, I'm up for moving a few more tons of rock. My winch has even started working again after the last time. I'll have to see if I can talk Jesse into going along as well.

4wd John Deere Backhoe. I don't think their brining it in this time but they have talked about brining it in if needed to do some serious fixin. I personally would not want to be the one to drive it in from Lotts T, It'll be a kidney killer!

Any of you guys in paradise have a weather report for the weekend? I heard mention of rain at elevation.

I am still planning on rolling out of the Hp parking lot at 12:30 tomorrow. See you guys up there! I'll be in the '43 yellow MB.

Seriously curious about this. I signed up for the Rubicon cleanup, but I'm wondering if one more body would help the High Lakes more than on the 'con. I mean hundreds of people on the 'con vs how many at the High Lakes? Let me know if I can be more of a help to the cause on the HL.

As of last night there was 8 or 9 going in for sure but just to Saddle Lake. The highlakes area as a whole does not need a lot of (trash) cleanup, just some rocks moved and trailwork done. This weekend is pretty much just going to be Saddle Lake work. I'm hearing too that not many or no one is spending the night on Saturday so?? Weather is supposed to be great but chilly at night. You can have campfires with a permit in the highlakes ohv area!!
Meeting place has changed to Dolly-o's on Skyway @8:00am Sat. All are welcome and encouraged to come help repair the Dam.

Blucruz-

We will probably be fishing over at campbell lake for Saturday night's dinner when you guys get there :) . Make sure you stop in for a  We usually try and snag the campground at the end of long lake near the trail for saddle.

Make sure you take your rain gear. They are guessing that there is a chance of rain at elevation Saturday night.

The fishing should be great!
