Well I told myself I was going to stick to the '94+ rams and wait till I found a good deal, but one of my friends handed me an ad today:

1993 Dodge 250 Cummins 4x4
AT, 145k miles, 8ft plow, runs well - $5,500

At that price I'll call up and see if its still for sale

What kind of Autos did they run in the '93?

I'm in NY so the big thing to watch out for is rust...

The only other things that worries me is the plow, if its been there its full life that would be some serious wear on the truck...

Any thoughts on this truck?

While you are down there looking for rust take a look at the frame where the front shock mounts bolt on. I bought a 93 back in Feb and when I was changing the oil I noticed that the frame was cracked behind the shock mount.

yeah, the frame likes to crack there, and around the steering box's. I think that truck had either the 727 or the 518/618, but I don;t have a clue. I just know I have a 518 in my 96 ram with a 318, and I am getting it rebuilt next week with 60k miles on the truck. On the other hand I went 200,000 miles on the 727 in my 77 dodge. I dunno, I think they are stronger than the 94+, but I would;t back that up... just make sure it was taken care of.. oh, and you may need a new front suspension because of that plow.. but it will be a good time to add a 6-8" skyjacker and some 37" SSr's

Hey thanks for the info, I'm going up later this week to check the truck out. Then I'll be able to see what shape its in a see how it drives...
