I haven't had any problems up til now, i parked my jeep across the street this morning so i could use my mother's car to drive her to the airport. I just got back and went to pull it in the driveway and there's a loud fast ticking under the dash and the gauges are going haywire. The jeep won't start and the only time the clicking stops is when i push on the brake pedal... any ideas?

edit: its the asd an tcm relays making all the racket turning on an off rapidly

Check your ground.......... WJ's are real picky about needing a great, not good ground.

My 2000 WJ did something similar, but did not have the clicking noise. Just the gauges going nuts and wouldn't start. The crank position sensor on the bell housing had shorted out. you can test the cps with out removing it.

battery is dead (low)

that was it, thanks. I didn't even think of the battery because every once and a while I could get it to act normal (minus actually starting). I took two extension cords and a drill with a wire brush on the end and cleaned up the terminals and got it started. I'll be replacing the battery once funds come in.

thanks again guys.
