Looks good.
I'd flat black the sides.

BA work there Baldy!!!!!!! It would look better w/o the sides tho. I never would have that of using the grid set up for the bed. Bet it made running your rear braces for your hoops alot easier.

Baldy what you running for axles? I thot you gutted one out of a fullsize ford, if so what is it and how much have you narrowed it down?

I like it, but I would swap out the plywood sides for some oak slats. I think two oak slats would look great.

I need sides so I can still use the truck to go to the dump and haul things without tieing everything down. I made the sides and tire flares so they come off with just a few bolts so when I'm 4wheeling it's a true flat bed. I could care less about using expensive wood as I really don't care what it looks like. I used the grating so I can easily tie down items without having to install tie down hooks.
I installed the down tubes when the bed was on the truck. It was a bitch to remove the bed due to the tubes going through the bed. Thank goodness for plasma cutters I had to cut the bed in numerous pieces to get it off.
The axles are a Chevy 12 bolt axle for the rear and a Dana high pinion 44 for the front out of a 78 Ford F150. Neither has been shortened they are full width.
