Any possibility to make an adapter that would convert from 6 on 5.5 to 8 on 6.5?
If so, can you pm me a price? Only need them as thick as required to manufacture. Not looking for a specific width. Thanks.BTW, you guys make some really nice stuff. Keep it up.

I would just like to see a 5x5.5 to 8x6.5 adapter and an 8x6.5 1"-2" spacer.

They (intentionally ambiguous) have been running since Wednesday and we should be seeing the first versions come back from anodizing in 1.5 weeks. The only possible hold up will be the order of 5,000 wheel studs that are being made right now as well.

are you referring to the spacers? or all these adapters people are talking about.

Spacers and adapters, but we haven't drilled the patterns yet. I was hoping to get some more insight as to what is most needed at this point.

Well i can tell you that i need some 2" 8x6.5" spacers. Gotta space out my H1's. Need 4 of them, so as soon as you guys gettem ready, consider me sold on a set.

May need some 5x5.5" to 8x6.5" adapters for a possible Heep project...and DodgeBox and I would both probably be interested in some 1", 1.5" or 2" 8x6.5" spacers.

Our first 8x6.5 sets will be 1.75". Will that be enough?

Depends on Tie Rod end. I know with H1's on a D44 and your 3/4" ends I am very tight with a 2" spacer. Not sure what the clearance difference is for a TRE.

If you like I can drive my beast down to check clearance. I should be headed down soon to pick up some centers Allen is working on for me.

I'd prefer 2" on the 8 on 6.5 inch spacers as well. I have my H1's on a full size full bodied rig and need to space them out pretty good.

mechanicalmongoose20
12-27-2009, 05:23 PM
Yea guys, i think 2" would be alot better than 1.75". Mainly because most of us using 8 lug spacers are spacing out H1's for extra room. And i'll be running 7/8" hiems on step up arms so i need the full 2" i'm sure, maybe even more. I'm just trying this before i get my shiot recentered.

Id be interested in some 6lug to 8 lug spacers also just wide enough to make the boltpattern change.
Got a set of 39s on my heep im building that id like too bolt on my yota till i get my jeep done for now so i can at least play a lil and not tear up my 35s i dd with.
What do you think a set of 4 would run?

Spacers and adapters, but we haven't drilled the patterns yet. I was hoping to get some more insight as to what is most needed at this point.

Jeff

Well, 84thumper & I are in need of the same thing; 6 on 5.5 to 8 on 6.5 adapters. I would think the market for these would be there, what with all the mini-truck guys throwing 1-ton axles under their rigs in stages, as I am. Even if you could do an 8 to 6 lug adapter I'd think you'd find buyers. My father-in-law wants to throw a 14-bolt in his blazer, but with the 6-lug front D44, he'd have to convert the front as well or run mis-matched wheels. Let us know what you come up with, & definitely pm me w/a price for a pair. Thanks a billion.

84thumper
01-02-2010, 07:23 PM

Spoke to Alan @ Ballistic today. He said wheel adapters are not currently in the works, but they can always machine a set of custom adapters per customer specs. Wheel spacers in a variety of flavors are what they are offering now. I tried to convey to him that there seems to be a market for some adapters, but only time will tell if they are going to develop some. I sure hope they do.

If enough people post up with requests for these adapters & spacers to show that there's a market for them, they will likely start to look at expediting their production. At least I hope they will.

Jeff,
I'd really like a set of adapters to take a 5x4.5 pattern out to 8x6.5 with 2" of spacing. I'm big on the idea of only changing one axle at a time when possible (for trouble shooting purposes since you can never figure out exactly what's wrong if you change too many things at once) and I'd love it if I could run these spacers on the front 44 allowing me to go ahead and put this 70 under the rear and trouble shoot before I tackle the full hydro HPD60 64" WMS front setup... I'm sure there will be plenty of trouble-shooting there in it's own right :-) Clearly this is a custom type deal and I'm sure the price would vary accordingly but it seems that if you are milling the 8 x 6.5's from a solid block you could simply leave the center section in there (as the 5x4.5 hub center is so small) and recess the platforms for me to bolt in the 5 x 4.5" studs. No?

thought I would fallow up.

After Never receiving a reply to any emails, PM's, or Posts I called and Cancelled my order after being told that Ballistic Fabrication had no Idea when they would start production of their wheel spacers. After 3 more phone calls and 3 weeks of waiting I received my Refund for parts that were never received and where paid for in full when the order was placed.

I was very pleased with receiving the rest of my order promptly, but I am rather upset with how the wheel spacers and other back ordered parts where handled by Ballistic Fabricaiton. Sadly I nor the Shop I work for will do business with ballistic fabrication from their lack of Customer Service and comunication.
