I imagine Big Rich and the crew are still up at Donner, cleaning up the place. Big Rich and Bob Roggy were hammered with questions, complaints, requests and logistics all weekend. They worked their butts off and got very little time (if any) time to actually watch the competition. Their family members worked their butts off too. I wonder how many miles Bob's dad put on his new Arctic Cat quad.

The only final I heard, (and don't quote me on this cause I didn't actually see it on paper) was that Walker Evans won the Calrocs title for this year but not the event at Donner. I heard (once again, don't bet your paycheck on this) that Chris Durham won the event by a slim 3 points over Mike Shaffer. That's the Pro Modified series. Don't know about the Stock Modifier or Open Unlimited series. I'm sure someone will find time to post all the results soon...

Glenn, Chris did indeed take the win in Pro Mod. I'd like to thank Jeremy Faber for taking over spotter duties for me on Sunday. I am taking Kelly down to UC Davis today to have her looked at. She had 5 seizures yesterday. :(

What happened to Kelly????

Kevin,
There was a lot of contrevoursy in the Unlimited Class regarding the scoring, (or lack of) on Tracy Jordans final course.
In any case, Tracy Jordan took 1st place, I cant recall the name of the second place driver, and Bill Rowlette (Welder Boy) took 3rd, Brent Bradshaw (the 8 wheel Sami from Medford Or) 4th, and you were 5th. I heard about your viscous drop from the top of course 5, I hope everything is OK.

For the season Tracy won hands down, Scott Lentz (Brutus) 2nd, and, WB 3rd.

For the record, Tracy Jordan, felt very baddly about being involved in any contrevoursial results, and mentioned durring his acceptance of 1st place, that if the descrepencies which seemed to be pretty obviouse had occured, that the results should have been different. However there was no way to overrule the judging, so officialy they are as stated. He seemed sincere about, regretting the outcome of the scorring, and personaly talked with the second place driver,..it looked like awards envelopes were also exchanged.

Dang Lance. I sure hope she's gonna be ok. Tell her we're all thinking about her and if there's anything we can do, just say the word. Be sure to keep up posted when she gets back home. Sorry to hear this. I'm sure she hated missing the finals on Sunday...

I had Mike and Jeremy say a few words to the crowd after one of their runs. Mike said he was a little nervous (Mike, Nervous? Ha!) about running with a new spotter but he did a great job. Jeremy says he's the 'new Fat-Bastard'. LoL!!! :D:D (He needs to eat a few more Tacos though) Hehehehe!!!! :p

I stand corrected with my erroneous results I posted before I had seen Big Richs post. Just goes to show how quickly bad info can be passed without the numbers in front of you.
Oooooops Sorry:(

Lance I hope everything is OK,
It wasnt the same, without you there in the finals.
Jeremy worked his ass off, trying to fill your shoes, he and Mike did a great job taking second place. Chris just seemed to be possesed in the finals.

Jeff, your spotter worked pretty hard too and you guys were definately fun to watch. Congrats on making it into the finals...

Did you all see Chris Durhams roll on Sunday? Right below the announcers rock... That was incredible. He did nearly two complete side rolls and ended up on his right side. Engine screaming, tires smokin, engine smokin, killing skeeters, trying to drive it back up on the wheels. The crowd went crazy. Chris had his spotter riding shotgun. They jumped out and tried to lift the rig back on it's wheels. I didn't think it was possible but the crowd was screaming like crazy and they musta got an adrenalin rush and flipped that puppy back on it's wheels. Chris jumped back, fired it back up and killed the rest of the skeeters in the area, then headed back up hill to finish the course in true Chris Durham "Full on the Trigger" style. The crowd went wild. They totally loved it. I think he even got a decent score out of it.

I asked him for a few words on the microphone at the top but he wanted to catch his breath first and get a drink. I think he was a little shaken. Even though he's had many rollovers, I think any time you have one like that, it's a rush. It was an incredible run. Gabe told me they had a dashcam on his rig for that run so I bet that will be in the video. :D:D:D

My new spotter, (POR President, Mike Overmier), was one of the hardest working men on that mountain this last weekend. His addition to the team was the key to finaly making the finals, in a field of drivers as talented as was out there.
Mike was recruited to spot, only for this one event, and at the awards ceremony, I made sure to thank Mike for his contribution to getting us into 8th place.
Afterwards, we both agreed that we had good potential, as a team. We now plan to lighten the rig, along with a few other modifications, and to continue to practice, for even better finishes.

From what I have heard, it involved contact with a tree, and/or shrubs that were explained to the drivers as a penalty, durring the walk through.
I was putting my rig on the trailer when it was taking place, but when I came back to the lodge, it was a very hot topic, among some of the Unlimited drivers and spotters, and was being handled by Rich.

I know what Mello's rig is but what are the rest of the stock class rigs?

In particular what is kevin Hawkins driving?

Is one of the Curries driving the red TJ with the currie decal on the hood in the stock class?

I was at the start gate from start to finish of that run on sunday.......the judge said that if the wind blew the tree into them he wouldn't call it.........So it was up to the judge to call it wind or just being to close ............To bad that there was problem over that because if you were there you would be amazed how he walked through the holes that the earlier competors made for him

I have no 1st hand information on what happened on the course.
I only mentioned it because it was enough of a contrevoursy that Tracy wanted to mention, it durring the awards ceremony. I think Tracy showed as much character and class as any man could, who was forced into that type of situation, for whatever circumstances. And you dont have to convince me of is driving abilities, I was already a Tracy Jordan fan.

I was a witness too - "Ditto Gearman."

I will say that the judges on the course worked thier asses off all weekend - I watched counted vehicle on the course and they were easily the most informative and professional.

Maybe in a situation like this a quick viewing of video should be allowed.

It was awesome action by all in the unlimited class!

Damn Scott... I heard somebody say, 'Is that a Rockcrawler or an Earthmover?'... I had to laugh when you totally disappeared in a cloud of dust in that hole (where you eventually rolled). A large number of speckledtaters disappeared as well. Hella fun to watch though. I'm glad I wasn't downwind from that.

When Tracy broke his front axle everyone (judges, spectators and one of my cameras) quit paying attention because they thought there was no way he'd finish the course. I watched two different camera angles of it and added up 47 points in just flags and backups. These were blatant runovers of flags, bushes, and trees that the judges made clear to everyone that they were out of bounds. Take away five for spotter ride and he is still pointed out at 42. I give Tracy huge credit for finishing the course and being cool at the trophy presentation but the judges final tally was 9 points. That would have made a huge difference in the final standings.
