Have a 96 Grand Cherokee with a bad 4.0....
I have a 4.0 out of a 93 Wrangler that is perfect...
I have heard both ways that it will work, and it will not work. Just trying to get my ducks in a row before I yank the bad one out.
Thanks

If the transmissions are the same, it should be easy. Might need to take the harness as well.
Two completely different engine management systems. The '96 is OBDII the '93 is OBDI. You can swap all of the fuel/emission/electronics from the '96 to the '93 and it will work.

Cool, doesn't sound too bad then....what I had heard was it wouldn't bolt up to the frame mounts for some reason...that's why I asked....the wrangler was an ax15 5 speed and the cherokee is an auto....should just have to swap the flywheel for the flexplate from the cherokee engine right?
thanks alot
Pull the pilot bushing out of the crank also.
