: Ttc?
whodat 09-30-2002, 09:31 AM It seems that about half of the threads I read about TTC are about how it sucked this, unfair that, lame the other. Why not a PBB TTC? Don't like the way they run it, make your own! There's gotta be someone here with the brains/knowledge/experience to set it up. Could be tied to a local club's run, could be tied to something else entirely (Big Dog's Best of the Best, expanded to include more events?)

rusted 09-30-2002, 09:39 AM Ok, but I think he's on to something here.
How about a PBB TTC?
whodat 09-30-2002, 09:41 AM Really? I wanted to start a new thread on this rather than replying to each of the many current and past TTC threads. This also doesn't seem to fall directly under any of the current threads, but if it does let me know and I'll try to give a shit.:flipoff2:

RKCRAWLER 09-30-2002, 10:03 AM I would sign up to compete.:D You could also do different classes.
zachv 09-30-2002, 10:35 AM You could take one rig from each region in the US and have them compete at Avalanche. I would only let those from each region vote on trucks in that region. That would give the best cross-section.
Does Avalanche really have enough variety in their terrain? After all, we're looking for a "well-rounded" vehicle, as opposed to a rock specialist. Right?

Might need to import some poison oak. :D

A good idea and probably a good place to hold it.
Jeepmangled87 09-30-2002, 01:48 PM Id do it if My rig could move:flipoff2:
SilverZuk 09-30-2002, 02:02 PM Class the vehicles by tire size or by type or what?
(A zuk on 31's will likely smoke an F-150 on 31's off-road, the tire size is not in proportion to the rig)
It's hard to draw a line between slightly modified verses medium.
Where do you draw the line?
What criteria would would the classes be based on?
I like the TTC and the all around testing, but would like for there to be a "poor boy" class for guys who don't have coil over custom tube buggys. I enjoy the current set-up where readers pic them, but always wanted to see a "run what you brung or daily driver class". It would be hard to be objective during the classification of a rig due to so many variables. Lift laws vary from state to state, no way a legal WV rig could compete against some of the others. Bumper height restrictions, fender flare restrictions with a maximum of 3" from the body, the list goes on.
CJ Lagos 09-30-2002, 02:39 PM SOUNDS COOL
nobody20 09-30-2002, 02:48 PM Great idea. Think its gotta be better than four wheelers. I wanna enter. :) Better class of readers on PBB.;)
Motornoggin 09-30-2002, 03:05 PM yeah BABY!!!!! I am soooo there!
synds9 09-30-2002, 03:28 PM How about a PBB TTC with classes for different levels of modified vehicles??? tube buggies.. then vehicles with stock suspension CONFIGURATIONS but just bigger springs etc.. WHATEVER make it something everyone can enjoy and participate in.. just another n00b pissing in the wind :flipoff2:
synds9 09-30-2002, 03:33 PM ohhh and you gotta make it a spectator thing.. with titties.. i mean women.
JParuBob 09-30-2002, 04:34 PM the only problem with half the stuff that you want to see is that you are going to make the competition shit. more or less. If people (i.e. the readership of the magazine) really wanted to see an entire event composed of regular type vehicles, then that is what they would've voted in.
You can't blame this years TTC for all this stuff. It's been like this since day one. Look at Quagmyr and the Scorpion. That was what? 4 or 5 years ago that those were in there? Those definitely aren't cheap vehicles. I haven't seen the competition in the last few years, but I'm sure it was the same caliber of vehicles.
Of course there are a few exceptions to the rule. Jesse's Yota didn't seem to be that huge/different. Few minor modifications. To me it looked extremely buildable for the average Joe... Same for Abba's Scout. Now, when you get into Mog axles (JR, btw, love the ride) or the Frog (Barry, btw, nice ride)... That's when you get into more money. But usually a few of the rides are more towards the average Joe.
But those are just my thoughts.
synds9 09-30-2002, 05:31 PM hmm yea.. but we're not talking about the magazine readers we're talking about us :D
bigbene 09-30-2002, 05:44 PM I'd come play if there was an event somewhere close. Maybe Attica, Tellico, or Paragon.
mrtwstr 09-30-2002, 05:46 PM I'm with Teknalee, I'm voting for the rig whose driver has the biggest boobies.
synds9 09-30-2002, 06:33 PM less clothes = point advantage :D
bigbene 09-30-2002, 06:43 PM Do man-boobs count?
