step one remove big nut on axle shaft
2. loosen the 4 bolts that go through the spindle into the wheel bearing
3. most of the time the wheel bearing is in there really tight so take a extention
and the socket and prop this on the 4 bolts moving in a x pattern press on them by turning the wheel with the truck on so you have power steering
4.remove wheel bearing and then the axle shaft

Ok I was attempting this yesterday in the 31* weather.. so does the socket with the extension method work for the PNWet climate? I broke a slide hammer trying to get one side off.. I may reattempt this tomorrow.. I also used a propane torch and some rust penatrant with no sucess..

You might have to (in extreme cases) beat the bearing off with a sledge. On my '05 the axle shafts are in very tight. Luckily I've only replaced them when they were broke, so I just welded a ring on them and used a slide hammer to pull them out.

it is normal for the bearing assy to get siezed in there. sometimes you have no choice but to beat the crap out of the hub flange to get it out.

usually when you do this, its gets bent to hell and you need a new $ hub/bearing assy

Well You guys rock... I got the right side done today in the 28* weather, I will tackle the left tomorrow or Saturday. The bolt in the bearing and using the steering to pop the bearing out worked like a champ. Now its all anti-seized up and will be easier to get off next time.. Thanks a million for the advise..
