Got my tires and wheels mounted this weekend and they hit the cab at flex when turned. Not the supports, the acutal cab - already sawzalled the supports off. (44x18.5x15 Ground Hawgs on 15x10 Eaton Bead Locks with 3.5" of backspacing) I think they'll hit at flex w/o turning but it's not really wheelable so I'm limited to things around the immediate vicinity. I'm thinking about moving the axle forward 2" (using 52" rear chevy springs) hoping this will help or elimiate the contact but I don't think this alone will do it. I'll prob add a 1" body lift and then tub the cab it necessary. Right now I have 4" of lift - 3.5" Rancho springs with 1/2 add a leaf - and NO body lift. Anyone have any experience with 44's and 4" or so of lift. I would like to know how much of a move I need to make on the axle. I'm afraid if I move it too far forward cross over steering above the springs will contact the frame on uptravel as it slopes down @ the front. Any ideas or experiences would be appreciated.

I had a k5 with about 8 inches of lift and 44's on 10" wheels. They hit like hell at first. So i replaced the main leaf with a factory rear main leaf....the springs were 6" to begin with....built a crossmember front spring mount and it worked much better. The tires didnt hit the floor pan near as bad but they bent the hell out of the inner fender right under the battery. That could be solved easily. Hope this helps....oh i moved the front end forward about 2.5 inches and it didnt effect the crossover ....the draglink just kinda went forward a little....but it cycled and worked fine.
