I am removing a 2.5l engine from a Jeep wrangler for the 1st time and I am not sure where to connect the engine lift. I don't know what to attach the chains to on the engine. I was thinking a front mount where the power steering is but I am not sure where to attach to the rear of the engine.
I have seen lots of threads and docs that say remove the engine but I can't find anything that says good mounting points. I don't want to F anything up with a lame attachment point.
Any advice and/or pics would be helpful.

On the rear, attach using one of the bellhousing bolts

Thanks for the reply but I am still confused.
I see the bolts go through the bellhousing then tread into the block. Can I thread the bolt from the opposite side of the mounting surface that the belhousing mates to? Do the bolt holes go all the way through? (I am not at the jeep right now) If so I can see this working great.
Pull the bolt out, run it through the chain, then thread it into the block. This only works if the bellhousing isn't in the way.
If it is, find pretty much any bolt that's 3/8" or bigger (the actual bolt not the size of wrench you use on it) at the rear of the engine that threads into the block or the head and use it.
No need to make it any more difficult than that.

It will be in the way so this won't work.

I will find something 3/8" or bigger and use that. I hope I can find the right balance. Trial and error I guess will be the trick here.

Just toss a jack under it and slide the motor forward a bit once you have all the bellhousing bolts out.
Or just use a couple lifting straps under the motor instead of bolting to it.

I used the bell housing, top on drivers side and the lower alternator bolt, not a great combo for balance and the bell housing/trans/xferwereall a bitch. Dont be lazy and beat the hell out of the shifters. Good luck.
