Bodylifts: Don't have one, don't want one...although, it looks like I need one...until I get out the sawzall again.

Seriously though, I don't like the frame/body gap that they leave and having to fix the bumpers, etc.

Don't get much of a frame to body gap with only a 2 inch lift. Only place you can see any gap is in the rear wheelwells, and that is minimal. Otherwise, you don't see much difference.

However, I would agree that a sawzall is a better way to make room for tires than a body lift. OTOH, since I am not ready to molest my scout with the blade just yet, the body lift was a good alternative. Especially since I had to replace my body bushings anyway. It was an easy *while you are at it* type thing, and between it and the soa, I now have plenty of room for my 33's <g>

And after 2" body lift and SOA

Not a whole lot of visible difference.

Soooo, sawzall is good, but until then, the 1-2" body lift works pretty well.

However, I have seen some rigs with the 4" body lift where you can see air between the bottom of the rockers and the top of the frame. you can look straight through the rig, midleve. I agree, that looks ridiculous.

What? You got body bushings with your Scout? I guess whoever ordered my Scout new didn't want that option <IMG SRC="smilies/tongue.gif" border="0"> . I am going to put in some sort of bushing kit...just not a body lift on top of it.

I like a body lift for one reason: it sure makes it handier to work on especially stuff like the t-case and tranny. 2 inches more makes all the difference. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
