Im looking to buy a used 2007-2008 Polaris Ranger or Yamaha Rhino 4x4, main use will be around the house (40 acre's), Hunting, take deer bait out, and some minor trail ridding. ( I have a bad back,so I wont be jumping) I like the ranger because of the bench seat, can fit my son & wife... anyway what machine is better?
Thanks for all the help.. hope to buy one before christmas..

I have a 09 rhino excellent machine. Only has 2 seats but you can add one in the bed for your son. My wife had back surgery a few years back and we take the rhino every where, The seats are very comfortable. Hope this helps a little.

our deer/duck lease is a freekin quagmire, worse mud I have ever been in, and almost everyone has gone with a rhino. my self included, I have a 09 700. Rhino's have proven about bullet proof and seem to handle the mud/water that the duck hunters/deer hunters encounter alot in South Ar. better. I sold my atv and went with a rhino as I carry my wife huntin alot and have all her and my gear to haul.. it fits the bill nicely without being as big as a ranger or big red etc..

The Rhino's I have ridden in were all very nice and I think we all know Yamaha makes pretty solid stuff. That said, I went with a Ranger partially for the bench seat. I have two sons that are and will be doing a lot of hunting and riding with me in the next many years. There's no way that two bucket seats could've done it for us. Sure you can add seats but we need the bed too. Which brings another thing, payload of 1500# and towing cap. of 2000# on the Ranger 800 is nice to have. And when it's not working it'll haul ass and ride like a dream too. :smokin:

I have been a Rhino rider since they came out. I have had 3. That said, for what you want, a used 700XP would be perfect. The bench is really nice. I made my Rhino a 4 seater and it ruined it for anything but hauling a kid around. I took it out and now my kids just have to take turns riding.
Go with the bench seat.
