Starting to put together my shop computer and was wondering what programs you fellas are using. Any thing from cad, bend tech, solidworks, suspension calculating/desgin, etc. Thanks ahead of time for the input.

i have a older AutoCAD 2000i at the shop
i use it a lot ....like for example cycling the suspension on this little 4x4 sand/desert buggy project;

or to make quick detail drawings or printout sheets of tube cutting lengths like for this set of front A-arms;

there is newer (=$$$) and better software around ....but this works fine for me :p
i never had the time or passion to figure out how to use the 3D function .... i guess i`m not a computer guy (everything with more then 3 buttons gives me a headache :homer::laughing:)

I think aol radio is better than pandora on most occasions.

Other than that, I use...
Windows calculator
google sketchup
and Internet explorer/chrome for web browsing
there are also some excellent free pipe/tube birdmouth programs to print templates (printer is in the house tho)

ProE 4.0/AutoCad 2000/MasterCam for cad stuff

A printer for printing templates is very useful. Just make sure it is calibrated (draw a known size and measure it). Hell a 42inch plotter can be really nice for laying out large stuff if you can find one cheap from surplus.
