I want to drop a ford 302 into my scout II, however I currently have the 258 AMC I6 with the T-18. AA has an adapter kit for the sbf to IH t-18 however it is for the SV motors.
Does anyone know the input shaft length on the 258 I-6 with the T-18?

Edit: Here's the adapter kit http://advanceadapters.com/product/2187/712531.html

Also, for those of you that have done this swap, can I see how you did your clutch and linkage?

IH T-18 and AMC T-18's are different. Regardless, like I said on BP you're best option is just getting a Ford T-18 and the T-18 you've already got and have a rebuild shop swap the input shafts. If possible too, you may want to have them mix and match gears as well, as I believe the Ford has a lower first.

I don't know that all ford t-18s came with granny low, but to swap inputs it would be like swapping everything from one case to the other. Also, i know that there is a difference between how reverse is shifted, but I don't know whether it would be a problem between cases. Probably not, since when I swapped mine I didn't touch the reverse shaft. It does make a difference in getting the mainshaft out, though.
