My low end just went out, rod knock took out the lower end mid road trip. What engines will fit in the engine bay without too much work. It is a 5.4 liter and I'm looking to get my truck back on the road soon so finding an engine in a scrapyard would be easy if I knew which engines could just be dropped in or added with a few modifications. Wouldn't mind making her a little beefier also, not looking to just stay Ford, if a 350 could be dropped in with a few engine adapters that could also work.

The only engine that will fit without thousands of dollars of adapters and electronic modifications is the one that came out.

Unless you plan on re doing all computers controlers and pcm for the motor you need to put the same motor in that came out. It will be worth staying EXACTLY the same when swapping.
