I think I may have bent my frame. here are some pictures http://www.flickr.com/photos/45693208@N05/. as you can see in one of the pictures, the whole tire is pushed way back to the rear of the jeep. I couldn't find any cracks or twists in the frame. I am afraid that the passenger side frame rail is bent. does this sound right? and if so how could I go about fixing it properly? thanks

I would lean more towards a problem with the springs. It looks like your hangers are in the same location and the shackle angles are the same so I would say the leaf spring center bolt busted and the axle is moving back and forth on the spring pack.

Thanks for fixing my pics Dooky. The axle is still secured to the leaf springs and seems to still be centered.

Can you take pictures of the axle and leaf springs? Specifically where the axle bolts to the leaf springs? If the frame was bent it wouldn't bend that way. It goes side to side. It does not get longer.

Dookey your the man. as it turns out it was the center bolt on the leaf spring pack. easier fix than I originally thought it would be. Thanks for all the help!

Good tech.
Next time look at the frame and ask yourself a few more questions before creating this useless thread.
