Not like I have a ad here for the FREE SCOUT I am trying to get rid of. :D

I did it right and put in in the classified section like I am suppose to do.

Can someone go over the rules for me again. Just so they are clear.

This subject is one of self control. You see you can advertise anything if you word it right. Certain people/members on this board do it all the time and it pisses me and other vendors off. They do similar tactics on other boards as well. They word a question about a scout they are selling...Example:

I was wondering how to pop the only dent out in this truck I am selling for $2000. Also what do ya think the estimated horsepower is of the motor in it is? Its got 30 over boar, forged pistons, ported heads, decked block, Unobtainium rods, and a predator carb. In adition to that how do i get it out of the garage? I duid a SOA and have 37" tires on it. Do i let the RS 9000s down to 1 and lower the air pressure or what?

So ya see if you word something right you can cheese your way into advertising it. The other tactic is to just say " sorry to blurb this here but i had to tell you all....yada yada. Or just post it without regard to the list. It really helps when you post alot of pictures of something that your business does or has done, in a way as to show it off or so people can see that your shop did all the work. Its cool if some one other than you post the stuff, like the guy who had the work done for example. Not the business that actually did the work.

These are some of the many ways to advertise on the list. I am sick and tired of seeing these backyard homebrew cheap tactics without the responsible party getting their ass reamed for it. Its fucking bullshit when most of us try real hard not to do these and these other guys get away with it all the time. Shows ya the real character of some out there.

everytime you post, no mater what it is, you advertise your business... its right there in your signature... is that not the same "sneaky" way of plugging/advertising your business/product?!?!



not saying its bad, or you should stop, or picking on you (well maybe a little :D).. personally, in moderation, I think it's OK, its really up to the moderator as to how much too much, or how blatant things get.

There is also a difference between one guy trying to get rid of a couple things in his yard, to a blatantly company pimp'n their shit unsolicited...

And things changed for me and the truck I need to get rid of is back in my hands again and I still need it gone. So after trying to give it away.
Most people want parts - So you saw my earlier post. It is now going away.

I would never try to take business away from you or any other business. If I had a title for the truck I would have called you and asked if you wanted the parts. But no title makes it a problem child and I am dealing with it the best I can.

And yes I know the ads your talking about - I find them cheesy and tasteless.

I appologize for putting the board through this on my part. I really expected to get flamed more by now. But maybe everyone is worn out from flaming the guy with the cheap scout.

and ritch, I maybe the only one, but I don't see ANY problem with you posting you scout on here.... you not SELLING it, you need to get rid of it, I would do the same thing, this is the audence your after, this is were the IH people are concentrated.

You giveing away something would be simular to me post "I HAVE FREE BEER, COME HELP ME DRINK IT :beer: :beer:" I can't think of anyone here that would have a problem with that post (well maybe the Kalifonians, since I'm here in WA :D)

it appears some of you have issues with this subject... I for one don't see it as that big of a problem, yes I have seen the blatent "pimp" post, but they are pretty few and far between....

You should have looked at the ad :flipoff2: it said Everett Washington.

I now have enough parts going out that not much will be left over - but by sacrificing this truck several others will get the parts they need.

SO if your near Everett, Washington and would like to help tear the rig apart - your help is welcome.

IF you have a sawzall - even better. bring it with you. Need to take it down to the front section of frame with the motor sitting on it. Motor to be picked up Monday or Tuesday.

I will most likely have some pizza and that beverage you appear to like. BUt ONLY for help workng on dismantling the BLUE rig. with all the other scouts laying arround my place - I want to clarify "Only the BLUE one" all others are not to be torn apart. remember this after a couple of :beer: :beer:
