I'm headed up to the brand new Clark County Shooting Park (http://www.accessclarkcounty.com/depts/parks/locations/pages/Shooting_Park.aspx) in an hour or so. The thing is freaking huge and it's up the side of the Sheep Mountians overlooking the whole valley. It got lighting, so in the summer we'll be able to go up when it's cooler outside and shoot, and still see the lights of the valley. Here's a .pdf of the plan. (http://www.accessclarkcounty.com/depts/parks/locations/Documents/Master_Plan.pdf)
It's got a 50 yard pistol range with 40 stalls, and a 200 yard rifle range with 20 stalls, a trap & skeet range, archery range, training rooms, and they're building an RV park for future competitions. They've got 2900 acres of land, so I think it's going to be in place for a long time. The closest house is over a mile away, (although there are still those that have complained about it, even though it's been on the books for years and years).
The google earth shot is old and doesn't show the construction, or paved roads, but you can still get an idea of how big it is as it shows the graded land.
Also going back tomorrow with .22's for a buddy and his kids.
Any of you guys got similar parks in your area?
