We're not getting good resopnses in the FOTR ring, everyone seems to have something going on. It's last minute, yes, but this is very important. Please see Del's email below:

I'm looking for a local guy to go on a Rubicon tour (slab/bowl area only) THIS THURSDAY Oct. 3rd, 9am at Loon Lake (second) dam (spillway area).
It's an important tour as we're lining up our next project.* The feds would like us to tackle a quick hay/re-route project near the lake area before winter sets in.
I'm going to be in ID and UT for the next couple weeks and can't make the tour to see what we need to do.

I want to have an FOTR member there who can first hand see what is needed (with the USFS folks there) so we can get all the bureaucracy translated for us normal folks. :)

The person who goes on the field tour can either lead or not lead the actual work party.* But at least we'll have one of us there to make sure we understand the job.* It'll probably take place in late October or early November.* One day deal for the actual job, but there will be some heavy equipment involved too.

So who can be there?*
thanks, Del

Is it a walking tour or 'wheeling? If walking I can likely be there. Loppy, you've got me email- let me know.

hey loppy
I am most likely down. I need to know more about it. Do you have a phone number or something so I can find out more. I am unemployed and would love to avoid school that day for this. Send me an email at joepasic@hotmail.com

What I can't understand is why someone (Loppy) would make a post and then ignore it. I have clearance from the boss to do this but I don't want to go up there if someone else is already going. Any updates? I live in the Cool area so I can make it up there pretty easy. Oh wait I know why I'm not getting a response. I'm not part of the FOTR even though I am a FOTR. :flipoff2: Oh well

Joe,

I'll go out on a limb and say the job is yours if you can make it. no-one on the email list has responded. I don't know who to call for more info, but I would contact the USFS office in placerville or the pacific ranger office to see if you can get more specific info.

Mention Del Albright's name and Friends of the rubicon and tell them you are there to take notes so FOTR understands how we can help.

If you can, take some pics so we understand the general work area. Take good notes with contact info (names and phone numbers) and report back.

Thanks!

Hey Rock... :flipoff2: Sooooorrrryyyyy... geez. Some people have to actually work ya know. :D I got caught up here and one thing let to another... another... another.... ya know.

Sorry for not getting back. I'm informed that YOU are the man! Thanks a TON.

If you're interested in getting in the FOTR Loop, contact Del Albright above. He'd be happy to join you up. His info is above in the first post. Thanks again man, this is REALLY important. Take lots of pics!

Aggro, yes it's a walking adventure I'm sure. The project does not seem to extend past the bowl. So go for it. The more folks we have up there the better!!!
